From Clare Revell

This was originally pitched as a prequel to the Say A Prayer series, but for several reasons didn’t happen. So a rewrite turned it into something with Isabel in rather than Zander’s previous partner. I wanted something different, so figured put him in undercover. He hates lies and what could put him more out of his comfort zone than having to lie all the time? And that wouldn’t compromise his faith in any way.

Then another change happened.

I’d recently written Dark Streets Shineth and one of my editors asked if Zander was getting a Christmas romance too. How could Zander meet someone in his hectic job, that would land him in hot water and would be totally different from the normal boy meets girl scenario? And so very different from the way Isabel met Boaz.

Jack’s House would do nicely. Especially where every person in the house is a suspect. And Zander, being Zander with his heart on his sleeve, couldn’t help himself. But this one wasn’t romance, so who knows what will happen?

Writing this was a challenge because normally I have a whole town for the characters to play in. Not this time. It was a TV set, very few rooms, no privacy and very little wriggle room. But a whole heap of fun.
