Charlotte Masterson Gets A Life features a teenage girl who thinks her mother is too strict. Do all teenagers feel that way? I did when I was young. It wasn’t until after my mother passed away that I realized how much I relied on her emotional support. And how much I’d miss our weekly phone calls. Back then, those same phone calls sometimes seemed more an obligation than a pleasure. What I wouldn’t give to have one more! I never imagined that our earthly bond would be ended so early.

Although she didn’t realize it at the time, I always acted in what I thought was her best interest. Was I strict? Yes. Fair? I thought so. Wrongfully accused? Often. Yet through it all, I would have done anything for her. Even risked my life to save hers? Absolutely. But thankfully I never had to make the choice that faces Charlotte Masterson’s mom.

I hope teenage girls who read this novel realize how much their moms love them. If they don’t understand now, they will someday. And hopefully it won’t be too late.
