What Child Is This? Was written by William Chatterton Dix, in 1865. While recovering from an illness he underwent a spiritual renewal that led him to write a poem called The Manger Throne. It is not known who paired the The Manger Throne with the music from Greensleeves, but it is believed to be John Stainer, a co-writer of The Christmas Encyclopedia in 1871.

The Gardiner Sisters are a family musical group from Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. The group primarily consists of elder sisters Hailey, Allie, and Mandi Gardiner, although younger sisters occasionally sing with them, too. The group began in 2009 when they first started posting videos of themselves singing on YouTube.
