This is a delightfully- suspenseful thriller about a librarian who decides for once in her ordinary life to have an adventure and do something worthwhile. This leads her to follow her twin brother to Columbia and join him on what she thought was a mission trip. Instead, her structured life will never be the same. She stumbles onto a dangerous, volatile situation and ends up in the protection of her brother’s horribly- wounded friend, Gage, back in the U.S. Between real threats to her life, worry about her brother still active and in great danger in Colombia, and her rollercoaster feelings about her protector, there is plenty of action to keep the reader anxious to see what happens next. There is a clear Christian message presented naturally as the characters face danger and seek wisdom and protection. Gage must struggle with his faith in light of his injuries and desire for revenge. All in all, the book is a great adventure filled with peril and romance and redemption. I loved the ending and will miss the characters. I received the book through The Book Club Network I exchange for an honest opinion which this is.
