(image for) 5 of 5 Stars5 of 5 Stars Sofi Andersson suddenly finds herself in charge of the household and an ailing younger sister, Trina, after the drowning death of her beloved father. When her father’s partner, Charles, decides that the best thing to do for Trina is institutionalize her, Sofi takes action.

Neil MacPherson has come to the Andersson household as a gardener, but is actually a doctor running from the law in the UK. He assists Sofi in her attempts to save Trina by escaping to the ramshackle family cabin in eastern Washington.

Sofi’s Bridge by Christine Lindsay is a well-written and well-told Christian historical romance with a lot of action and twists and turns.

I “won” this book as an Early Reviewer through LibraryThing and thought the story sounded very interesting—and it was. However, I didn’t realize that it was a Christian romance and wasn’t certain that I could do justice to reviewing a genre that I neither read nor am I a fan of. Yet, I am certain that readers of the genre will like this book. I believe the spiritual qualities of Sofi and Neil are those that readers would find inspirational.

The spirit and backbone of its heroine is one of its strong-points. I very much like how Lindsay allowed her heroine to defy the times and be strong and courageous in a man’s world and yet remain true to herself and her times.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review from LibraryThing. Sascha Darlington
