Transferring Files to an E-reader

 

While we can't offer technical advice or help on transferring files to your eReading device*, here is some general information that may help. Once you have downloaded the eBook file from our website to your computer, use the following instructions to transfer the files to your reading device.

 

Barnes & Noble Nook Devices

It is recommended for you to use EPUB or PDF for Nook devices.

Nook Tablet - Please refer to Barnes & Noble’s Troubleshooting Directions.

Nook Color - Please refer to Barnes & Noble’s Troubleshooting Directions.

Nook Simple Touch - Please refer to Barnes & Noble’s Troubleshooting Directions.

Nook Version 1 - Please refer to Barnes & Noble’s Tech Specs page for a list of NOOK-supported file formats, and for additional support, refer to Barnes & Noble’s Troubleshooting Directions.

 

Amazon Devices

It is recommended that you use MOBI or PDF for Kindle devices. (2022 update: Kindle now accepts EPUB files quite nicely, also)

Kindle - Please download the file to your computer. Transfer the device to your Kindle using the instructions in your Kindle model's User Guide. You may also try reading this online instruction from Amazon

 

Apple Devices

It is recommended that you use EPUB or PDF for Apple/Mac/i devices.

Apple iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch - Please refer to the following instructions on how to transfer either the PDF or ePub file using the iTunes software.

 

Sony Devices

It is recommended for you to use EPUB or PDF for Sony devices.

Sony Reader - Please refer to the following instructions to guide you. For additional support, please refer to Sony’s FAQ and Troubleshooting Directions for your eReader model.

 

Android Devices

It is recommended for you to use EPUB or PDF for Android devices.

For Android based devices, please refer to the following instructions.

 

Kobo

It is recommended for you to use EPUB or PDF for Kobo devices.

Files can be transferred from your computer to your Kobo device either using a drag and drop method or through transfer via an SD card. For additional support please refer to Kobo’s Help pages.
