A Man Who Can't Be Bought

The narrator's folksy voice was perfect for this story!!

I was given this audiobook free of charge for an honest review. Ok, so about midway through I searched Audible for more books by a new favorite author, V.B. Tenery, an purchased a 2 book series beginning. I think that alone speaks well of the writing. At the end of the story, I didn't regret my purchase.

However, now I'll say specifically what I liked about this story. Noah Adams is a former Marine, turned cop then PI with some specialized skills that only YHWH could have blessed him with. He uses all of his talents and training to help women and children out of abusive situations. It has often been said that one's personal testimony will at some point be used to help others in a similar situation. That's as close to a spoiler as I feel comfortable giving, because the book is well worth the listen/read. Bonus, a recounting of Corrie Ten Boom's "fleas" story which is something I have gained wisdom from. The cast of characters is well-drawn and except for the villains, hopefully returning in the next book. It's a pleasure to read about a man of integrity that cannot be bought, who outright honors YHWH. Full of action, without profanity or sex scenes.
