Successful author, Nathan Drummond, returns home after his father’s death to help his mother settle the estate. He soon discovers his father’s business affairs were left in shambles, so to protect his mother from creditors, he mortgages and sells all he has. But returning home revives memories of mistakes he’s been running from, but can’t escape, since he was a teenager. His mistakes from the past, threatens to ruin his future. This novel is well-written, and the author paints beautiful word pictures. Her jar of ashes is a moving and poignant image of Nathan’s attempt to escape the pain of his past. Beauty for Ashes is a story of forgiveness and second chances.
