(image for) 5 of 5 Stars5 of 5 Stars Wheelchair bound Sara Quinn’s story begins with a bang. A plane crash in Honolulu. Beck Sutherland, newly divorced, plans an early Christmas with his boys. Sara greets an Oahu day with a ride in the park. Beck had changed from his pilot uniform to running gear and finds Sara dumped from her chair. They discover they share a two-story duplex. It doesn’t take long for Beck to realize Sara is only one of three survivors of a familiar plane crash years before. They attend a block party together, and have dinner. He coins a “walk and roll” outing. The two become good friends. She meets his four- and five-year-old sons and they hit it off. Finally, sara sees Beck in his pilot uniform. I was amazed at her calm reaction. Until he tells her he’d been scheduled to fly the plane that had crashed due to pilot error, causing him guilt. What a plan God sets in Beck’s mind…a miracle for Sara. She’s going home to Vermont! Their love is beautiful, but 5000 miles apart turns into a flurry of postcards and letters, even when their relationship involves heartache. This is a beautiful, uplifting story for Christmas lovers. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for my own thoughts.
