Six years ago a horrific plane crash stole everything from Sarah Quinn – her beloved family, her sense of purpose, and the use of her legs. She longs to return home to her New England town, but her fear of ever flying again makes that impossible – or so it would seem. When she meets her handsome neighbor, Beck Sutherland and his adorable sons, she begins to think her life might have a purpose again. Airline pilot Beck Sutherland has known his share of hard times too. A divorce and the desire to remain close to his children render him, also, trapped in Hawaii. When he meets Sarah, his broken heart is stirred to love again. But what if Sarah discovered his dark secret – that he was, in part, responsible for the plane crash that destroyed her life? There’s so much to love about this story. Erin Stevenson has a magical touch for bringing her settings to life, a way of making her readers feel completely at home in places they have never visited. Characters can make or break it for me, and Sarah and Beck stole my heart from the opening scenes. Lovely Sarah, who is doing her best to make the most of a horrible situation, trapped not only in a wheelchair, but in a paradise that has become a prison. Beck, with his kindness, vulnerability, and faith. A man who is willing to go the extra mile (literally) for the woman he loves. And ever present in the background is the God who never failed them, who took the broken pieces of their lives and formed them into something wonderful. My heart soared as I went along with them on their journey from heartache to happily ever after. This lovely tale of faith- over-fear illustrates the power and beauty of love and the extreme lengths love will go to in order to prove itself. A must read for fans of faith filled holiday romances.
