A handsome stranger saves Hannah Parker from being hit by a bus prior to her sister’s wedding. She has time to clean up and sew her dress, but no time for makeup or to fix her hair. They meet again as the hero serves Drew’s Dairy Delights at the reception ice cream table. The humdinger flavors put her in a sweet mood. Ice cream makes people happy. Drew encourages Hannah to follow her dream, which is singing, and be happy. I appreciated the Christian message concerning gifts, service, and wisdom. Drew’s apartment building burns down, and he hurts his ankle making sure an older woman is safe. He and his roomie go to Mission. Hannah and Drew meet at a restaurant, and again at Hannah’s company party, when her roommate discovers Drew is homeless. He hears her singing a song that she wrote. He misses his father’s toy train that burned but is ecstatic over gaining a building for his business with living quarters above. Hannah is offered a music position at a Christian school the day before her boss asks her to lay off a group of coworkers. She refuses and quits. She later prays for her friend Jennifer and I loved the way Drew prayed for Hannah. Though a couple of things were predictable, this story is a yummy Christmas read.
