The struggles of life meet strong faith in M. Jean Pike’s newest release, “Super Heroes”. Friendship soon turns to attraction between Rory and Abby but can they rely on each other when tragedy strikes. Can they trust God in the bad times and find their way back to each other? Ms. Pike has a flare for character development. Once a character is introduced readers feel like they know them in just a few pages. This is the third book in her Redford Crossing series and characters readers loved from the past books come into the story like old friends. The word pictures are wonderfully painted and the writing flows smoothly with the plot moving along at a good pace. Reminders of God’s goodness and His promises are gently woven throughout the story. The scripture references fit each situation perfectly and will resonate with readers. The characters and situation are realistic and the dialogue is current. I found myself rooting for Abby and Rory individually and as a couple. Shyla’s story will touch lives as will dear sweet Olly. This book is another wonderful trip to Redford’s Crossing. If you haven’t been there you will want to stop by soon. (5/5)
