5 of 5 Stars Though sweet and short, this Christmas story packs a punch. One cold winter morning Sandra goes to the park and hands Simon a blessing bag as he huddles in the cold. At first, Simon figures Sandra is just another do-gooder. She challenges him and lets him know that she’s had hard times, too, but she still has her faith. She tells him, “God’s love for us certainly isn’t reserved for the good times.” Simon finds hope stirring within him until Ansel, his homeless friend, reminds him that Sandra only wanted to feel good and doesn’t really care about him at all. The next time Sandra finds Simon, he tells her God doesn’t want him. Still, he is haunted by Ansel and Sandra’s words. Such different messages and he realizes it’s up to him to make a choice. This story highlights how believing God loves us can change our lives for the better. I loved this heartwarming tale.
