5 of 5 Stars A little bit of romance and a little bit of mystery I am a big fan of Ms. Britton’s books. I enjoy both her Biblical and her contemporary fiction. After Reading Whispering Creek last year, I couldn’t wait for Escape to Whispering Creek to be released. And it was worth the wait. It did not disappoint! The main characters are realistically flawed, and I enjoyed watching them rely on their faith to help them face and overcome those flaws. Emma, the heroine, has innocently gotten caught in an illegal scheme at her business, so she leaves home and travels to Whispering Creek to escape those who are chasing her. While there she meets her best friend’s brother-in-law, Wade, who’s fighting to escape the physical and emotional baggage resulting from an accident. I couldn’t help but pull for both Emma and Wade to overcome their physical and emotional handicaps. Escape to Whispering Creek is a well-crafted novel with intriguing characters. I couldn’t put it down, and I’ll bet you won’t be able to, either!
