5 of 5 Stars See How They Hide is really part two to See How They Run, picking up where that book ended in a heart-stopping cliffhanger. If you read it as a standalone, be prepared to be a little lost and short-changed as far as investment with the story and the characters. This may be the first book I’ve ever read where I bounced back and forth between not being able to put it down, and desperately wanting to put it down so I could travel to England to wring the author’s neck! The thing that stood out most to me is that the manuscript is a perfect example of what writers call “showing vs. telling.” The author doesn’t tell us what the character felt, she shows us, and we feel all the emotions along with them. So well executed! Again, going back and reading earlier Ellery/York books will help establish the character arcs and make this read much more enjoyable. Another outstanding work, Clare Revell!
