This weekend, I read Barbara Britton's "Christmas at Whispering Creek"--a sweet, Christmas-themed contemporary romance between a young woman who is a breast cancer survivor (Sam(antha) Williams) and an electrician/songwriter (Cole Donoven).
Barbara did a great job of helping the reader experience Samantha's feelings regarding her loss and showing how God helped her. Barbara provided vivid imagery through description and sensory details. I liked how she included the repetition of Scripture throughout. The spiritual arc was well-developed and flowed organically.
Also, I was touched by reading about Barbara's personal story at the end.
I would recommend this story to anyone, but especially to those whose families have been touched by cancer.
I look forward to reading other Christmas Extravaganza titles.
