As Christmas approaches, her boyfriend, Evan, wants to propose to her. But how can he, when they can’t even be in the same room together? Fear and uncertainty prowl around, and the appearance of Risé’s ex-boyfriend with his abusive past causes additional concern. But one of the characters, Toppy, makes a statement that becomes the overarching theme. “God hasn’t changed.” No matter how uncertain or concerning times are, this is one unequivocal truth. Jody Day has written a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and love in a world filled with brokenness and uncertainty.
