5 of 5 Stars As the old saying goes, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry…” I enjoyed this sweet story of a man and a woman who thought they had their Christmas holidays all planned out, only to find that God had something else in mind. I loved how the author took two people whose lives were heading opposite directions and brought them together in a most unexpected way.
Justin’s been running from God for years, but when a snowstorm causes his car to slide off the road and hit a tree, he’s sure the woman who helps him must be an angel. Lauren had intended to spend a quiet Christmas at her family’s cabin, but when Justin’s car ends up in her yard, she takes him in and nurses him back to health.
This is a perfect story for the Christmas season. It reminds me of a weaving together of the stories of the Good Samaritan and the first Christmas. A nice read to snuggle up with in front of the fire, a cup of hot cocoa in hand.
