(image for) 4 of 5 Stars4 of 5 Stars Professor widower Sam, his son Oliver, and dog Sunny meet widow teacher Laura, who walks with a cane, and her daughter Kerri meet in the cemetery. She does acts of kindness to heal her grief. Sam doesn’t have a church at the beginning. Heartfelt examples of grief are portrayed in the writing. Neither want Christmas, but for their children. They see one another again in the grocery store. Sunny runs off and shows up at the shelter where Laura is serving Christmas night. The dog needs surgery. At the vet’s waiting room Laura is kind. Sam admits his rudeness. They weep in one another’s arms. Laura’s testimony is beautiful. “God doesn’t take anybody.” Sam turns his life over to Jesus. A rewarding story.
