A beautiful story of hope and healing from brokenness. I absolutely loved this story. It is well-written, heartwarming, and thought-provoking. Laura and Sam are both struggling to get through the Christmas season after losing their spouses. Their paths first cross in a cemetery. Laura’s daughter, Kerrie is quite taken with Sam’s young son, Oliver, and his dog, Sunny. Laura searches to find peace and healing through God and her church. Sam wants nothing to do with church or a God who would take away the love of his life. But as their paths continue to cross, Sam sees in Laura a hope that he lacks. A friendship built on shared loss develops between them. But how will they both react when loss once again threatens them? A New Hope for Christmas is an uplifting and encouraging story that reminds us how much we are loved. It is the perfect story to add meaning and encouragement to your Christmas season. This is the first book I’ve read by Erin Stevenson, and I can’t wait to read others.
