(image for) 5 of 5 Stars5 of 5 Stars This is the fourth book I have read of Barbara Britton's and so far my favorite. This story captivated my attention and I could not put the book down. Young soldier, with what we would today call PTSD, who was depressed and had lost his limbs in war in the early 1900's was given an even younger caretaker, Josephine, an innocent. At first I was thinking who would leave their young daughter to take care of an amputee! But of course back in those days young people were much for responsible and Josephine took her job seriously. As I had hoped a love story evolved and this book really pulled on my heartstrings. I kept hoping this intolerable, angry, soldier would see this beautiful young lady...and well love can change everything! Love certainly does heal many hurts and wounds. I don't want to be a spoiler. I would recommend this book absolutely and it is appropriate for a younger reader too. This is an honest opinion...I had been waiting for this book to come out as I have read Barb's other books and she just keeps getting better! Sherrie
