(image for) 5 of 5 Stars5 of 5 Stars Absolutely fantastic read, grounding in its strength and awe inspiring in its depth. Set on the Oregon Trail in the 1859, this story has guts and heart as well as the depth and excitement necessary to satisfy any romance reader's palate. Besides the diverse characters of pioneering city folk, Trappers, Indians, and scoundrels, there is so much more that makes this story spectacular. It is filled with intense drama, deception, treachery, and romance. The detail of the characters and surroundings, pull in the reader from the beginning until the end and back home again. The secondary players add great finesse to the storyline. Ms. Angela Couch creates an enthralling read that surrounds with anticipation that continues to build, leaving this reader spellbound, hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. She delivers well rounded scenario's launching this story into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, throwing it into a tailspin with astonishing impacts and pulling it out again with an awesome sigh. The personalities are well matched and balanced with enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. If, as I do, have a love for historical novels set in the Old West era, filled with great emotion, family relations, and a hero, you will simply want to devour this book. Awesome job Angela, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us. I was loaned this book for my honest review. I have to admit it was completely hard to put this book down. I truly loved it.
