5 of 5 Stars I’ve read the Bible for as long as I can remember, but I never really understood the importance of the chapters about the daughters of Zelophehad. Barbara Britton has crafted an engaging story of Biblical fiction. She has taken some little-known women and helped us understand the strength it took, especially in a patriarchal society, for five orphaned sisters to boldly ask for their family’s inheritance of land. Mahlah certainly must have been a Lioness, bravely protecting and providing for her family after her parents’ deaths. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series about Noah, one of Mahlah’s sisters. I highly recommend this work of Biblical fiction.
