5 of 5 Stars Even though this book is outside the genres I normally read, I felt really uplifted when I finished it!
Mahlah's rock-solid faith in God despite some super tough circumstances really challenged my faith and left me feeling inspired to be brave.
I liked that there was romance (I don't read Biblical fiction a lot, but I felt there was more romance than most Biblical fiction) and I REALLY liked Noah and Jeremiah, who will feature in the next book.
I wasn't quite as big of a fan of the romantic hero in this story - I didn't feel like he worked hard enough to win the heroine and apart from childhood attraction I wasn't certain why she loved him - but the fact that this book left me smiling even though the genre is way outside what I normally read means it had to be 4 stars for me.
Was cool that it really brought biblical characters to life and reminded me that they were people with emotions and daily problems.
