I really enjoyed this inspirational story by Tanya Hanson. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down! The author has crafted a captivating story about a young woman, Elena Montoya, who plans to inherit her grandfather’s ranch. But then a handsome stranger, James Conrad, arrives and claims he is the rightful heir…and he has proof. Then the mystery begins. Someone tries to kill James and make it look like an accident. And even though he plans to take the ranch from her, Elena can’t help but be attracted to James. The descriptions of the ranch and surrounding land are beautifully written and made me feel like I was right there with the characters. The intrigue kept me awake trying to solve the mystery, and I still didn’t figure it out… “The Heart of a Stranger” is an entertaining and inspiring story.
A fun Christmas tale set in the American West. This story has romance, intrigue, and faith. I liked that Elena, the female protagonist, is a strong character who defies a lot of societal norms to run her ranch along with her grandmother. I also enjoyed the emphasis on seeking forgiveness from God and forgiving oneself. After James was attacked, I thought I knew who the culprit was, but the author had me completely fooled until the end. This is an entertaining story to help you get in the Christmas spirit.
Elena and her grandmother manage a ranch together while mourning the loss of Elena’s step-grandfather. A stranger, James, rides into town and states he has a rightful claim to the ranch. Everyone, from Elena, to her grandmother, to the ranch hands all have something to say about that. It soon becomes clear that the ranch is not safe for James, having made so many enemies. In the midst of it all, Elena falls for him. The book is well written and engaging, with some surprising twists and turns.
