What do you do with an inheritance that no one wants?

Megan Donovan’s broken engagement has left her aimless with only one place to go: Montana. Her estranged grandfather has left the broken-down ranch of her mother’s youth. Trouble is, Mom’s memories of that time are so tainted that Megan doesn’t want anything to do with the place.

The wild horses that David “Cam” Campbell protects from rustlers need a sanctuary to roam free. What better location than Old Man Jenkins’ acreage adjacent to his own successful ranch? But Cam’s gotten off on the wrong foot with Megan, and that gal’s not selling—not unless Cam can convince her that it’s best for everyone involved.
But is giving Megan a reason to leave, really the best he can do?

Cowboys, Wild Horses, and a Mystery When Megan Donovan’s grandfather dies and her mother inherits his land, painful memories of her abusive father make her mother want to sell the land and be rid of her past. However, Megan wants to go see the land before they sell it, so she leaves home to go to the small town of Five Forks, Montana. Her decision turns out to be life-changing. She falls in love with the quaint town, its friendly people, and the beauty of the wild countryside. Not to mention Cowboy Cam. But something’s not quite right. I enjoyed this sweet story of second chances and redemption. I fell in love with the townspeople, and there’s just enough mystery to keep you guessing to the end.

“Loud as thunder, soft as a whisper, a heart will heal.” The cover phrase captured my attention. There was immediate tension due to a letter. Photographer Megan raced out into the spring Wyoming air, and jumped when her fiance appeared at her side. She returns the engagement ring. The next day she travels to Montana and sees the lawyer who wrote the letter. Thus opens the mystery involving her evil grandfather’s estate. Next, we’re introduced to rancher Cam, who instigates a prank that goes wrong. Ranching, secrets, wild horses, and land fights. What’s not to love? She respects her mother enough to consider her counsel, especially “Fall back on your faith, and you’ll soon find the answers you’re seeking.” This is a story of expectation that pulled me in right away, a wonderful romance with a pleasing HEA.
