When your heart is shattered, sometimes all you can do is go home.

Six years ago, Jillian and Tanner Holt met at the Lodge at Christmas Lake. They fell in love, married quickly, and have just moved into a sprawling, upscale home—the perfect place to start a family.

But when Tanner’s brother dies in an accident, things unravel. Guilt ravages Tanner, and he pulls away from Jillian. When he comes home unexpectedly to find her in the kitchen talking with their handsome neighbor, he makes ugly accusations. Things come to a head, and they each reveal a secret that could end their marriage.

Completely broken, Jillian returns to the place that has always brought healing to her soul. Surrounded by its peaceful, natural beauty, she sorts out her thoughts and listens for God’s voice. Tanner does come to her side, but it may be too late.

Can the Lodge at Christmas Lake help Tanner and Jillian find healing for their marriage?

A beautiful story of forgiveness, reconciliation, and love. This novella gives you two stories for the price of one. The primary plotline tells the story of Jillian and Tanner’s struggling marriage. In an extended flashback, you also see the sweet story of how the two of them first fell in love. The characters in this story face struggles without easy solutions, but with the Lord’s help, they rekindle their love and find hope for the future just in time for Christmas. A sweet and inspiring read!

What a wonderful, heartwarming story! The book opens in the present day, where Jillian and Tanner Holt find themselves in a difficult spot in their marriage. Not a typical boy-meets-girl type of romance, but real life isn’t always tied up in a perfect bow. The author then takes us back to the beginning of their love story, and we fall in love along with the characters. They meet at the Lodge on Christmas Lake, a magical place I wish I could visit. Both are people of faith, and the faith message is woven throughout the story. But even people who love the Lord and love one another struggle in their marriages, especially when stressed with outside events. In this case, Tanner’s relationship with and the subsequent death of his brother cause him to pull away. Both Jillian and Tanner have special people in their lives who give them good counsel, and Jillian returns to the Lodge at Christmas Lake to seek comfort from her dear friends. I enjoyed this story very much, for while it does focus o

What more magical place to fall in love than a charming inn at Christmas Lake? Indeed, Jillian and Tanner actually begin their love story just by hearing their voices on the phone when Tanner calls the lodge for reservations. Hearts flutter, spirits rejoice, and the sparks fly just as bright when they actually meet in person. The descriptions of Michigan’s gorgeous Upper Peninsula coupled with the breathless anticipation of their connection help make this story come alive and keep the reader in the moment. Six years ago, Jillian, 20, is a somewhat insecure loner raised at the lodge by surrogate parents and somewhat intimidated by the sophisticated yet gentle Tanner, nine years older. But nothing can get in the way of their romantic journey However, the story begins in their present day. In the opening scene, Tanner comes across as—dare I say—a jerk. While he has a point, Jillie feels their marriage must be over. Nowhere else can she find peace but Christmas Lake. A slow, sweet burn lat
