This is a delightful story of a woman, Laney, who runs a restaurant. Laney’s parents are deceased and a divorce results as her husband runs off with another woman after she uses Laney’s money to pay for his dentistry school. This leaves her alone to run her restaurant to survive. She loves the restaurant and thankfully she has a budding romance with Eric, a math professor. George a young college student helps Laney at the restaurant. Mix this with a mystery and interaction with her customers and we have a great turning story. I liked Laney’s conversations with the Busy Bee Ladies. The romance and support Laney receive gives a wonderful touch of faith and determination as she battles the unknown to save her top notch restaurant. The description of the delicious food served clearly indicates Ms. Pallotta knows her cooking. I highly recommend this novel. I received this copy because of a blog interview with which Ms. Pallotta was involved.

Laney longs for her tea shop to be successful, but she's still grieving her mother's death and her former husband's faithlessness. Full of doubt and worry, she hears noises at night and wonders is she's losing her mind. But then her assistant hears the noises, too, and thinks it's a ghost. The story moves along in a gentle manner as Laney's customer base grows. There's the beginning of a romance, as well. Eric has a broken foot and signs up for Laney's Delectable Delights--but he wants Laney to deliver everyday, not her assistant. While Laney and Eric grow fond of each other, they both doubt their ability to commit to a lasting love. Then Eric proves to very helpful in discovering the mystery of the kitchen noises. All in all, this was quite a treat, especially with the recipes at the end of the book.
