A Fractured Family Healed ...
Matt Callahan has lived across the hall from Jade Wagner for a year, but never understood the pain behind her eyes. When her sister appears in his apartment building, he is amazed at the differences he sees in the twins. As he helps Julie find her twin, he discovers that she just might be the answer to helping his own fractured family.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sunflowers and Suspicions. I had trouble putting it down! The author developed the characters well so I grew to love some of them! There was mystery and suspense and encouragement for a walk with Christ. I loved how Julie was real with sharing her struggles but a godly woman who cared deeply for others. I also loved the plot that included help for those who have made the decision to terminate their pregnancy and the reality the suffering it brings. I loved how Jade was delivered from shame and despair in an unexpected series of events. The devotion at the end was encouraging to never give up on people but to persevere in prayer! The author proclaimed the goodness of God through his mercy and faithfulness! Thank you!
I’ve always enjoyed stories and movies about twins and mistaken identity. In Sunflowers and Suspicions, Julie goes to New York to try to solve the mystery of her missing sister, Jade…only to be swept off her feet by a handsome, friendly, and helpful neighbor, Matt. At first Matt mistakes her for Jade, but quickly realizes his error. He is one of the few people who can tell the twins apart. Julie and Matt team together to find Julie’s missing sister, but they end up finding much more than they ever anticipated.
I loved the characters, especially Matt. He is such a kind-hearted and generous person. He’s the glue that holds everything together.
The author does an excellent job of weaving together the themes of of forgiveness, second chances, and redemption. Bravo to Ms. Malley for another well-written and engaging novel. It makes me want to move to Pine Springs.
