What if the wrong turn leads to the love you’ve always prayed for?
Aimee Perkins dreams of love, but her small Ohio town offers little hope—until she meets Max online. His charm sweeps her off her feet, and she agrees to meet him for a Christmas Eve service in the West Virginia mountains. But before she leaves, she rescues Chester, a senior service dog facing euthanasia, and brings him along for the ride.
When a blizzard strands her on a lonely mountain road, Aimee’s fairy-tale date turns into a nightmare: Max’s number is disconnected, his profile deleted, and her car is buried in snow. Cold, scared, and alone, she prays for a miracle—only to be found by Marty Frazier, a kind-hearted mountain man with a heart as warm as the fire in his cabin.
Marty’s been praying for love too. But Aimee’s been burned before, and trust doesn’t come easy—even when Chester works his own kind of magic. As Christmas unfolds, Aimee must decide: Is Marty the answer to her prayers, or is she too afraid to take a leap of faith?
A heartwarming Christian romance about trust, divine timing, and the miracles that find us when we least expect them—perfect for fans of holiday love stories, rescue dogs, and mountain men who believe in second chances.

Scripture Connection “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:7-10, cited in the Devotional Moment Spiritual Themes One of my favorite parts of M. Jean Pike’s works is the Devotional Moment at the end of her writing. I really appreciate that she takes the opportunity to delve a little deeper into the message/key takeaway of the story, and also includes a prayer for readers to pray. This Author’s Note is especially delightful, due to its emphasis on “the lessons God teaches us through His creation.” Throughout the story, both main characters seek to trust the Lord and His plans, especially con
