Beth Tarrington has it all: a gorgeous fiancé, a lucrative career, the latest model car, and a high-priced condo. On top of that, the Tarrington name opens every door in town. So why is she so discontent? When everything falls apart in Beth’s life, will she finally find the strength to stand on her own two feet?

Is God really willing to stand by her side, even after she's ignored Him for so long?

When Jason Brooks meets Beth, his head tells him to run in the opposite direction. Beth is a high-society snob engaged to another man, and he’s not sure where she stands with God.

So why does God keep bringing the two of them together?

Can these two find love, in spite of everything that stands in their way?

Karen Malley’s Moonlight and Mystery captivated me from the first page. Everything about it was fresh and kept me engaged. Usually when a story contains a socioeconomic disparity, the hero is usually the rich one. I love how that was turned on its head. There was another very interesting element. The best way to describe it is that there was a parallel plot to the main plot, and it was genius! I don’t want to elaborate, because I want readers to experience the delight for themselves when they figure it out. There’s a saying, “you write what you know.” Karen Malley has a strong science background (something that I completely lack), and it was fun to see how this was woven throughout the book. I can’t wait to meet more Chester County couples!

I just finished this new release by Karen Malley and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s the story of a wealthy heiress, Beth Tarrington, who must come to decide whether she should put the callings of her Heavenly Father above the demands of her earthly father…when by doing so, she risks losing everything. I really enjoyed watching Beth grow both spiritually and emotionally. And then there’s the magician-science teacher-actor, Jason Brooks. Sigh. He was so easy to fall in love with. I particularly enjoyed the “story-in-a-story.” The author did a masterful job of blending the two storylines. Moonlight and Mystery is a beautiful tale of love, growth, and fulfillment.

This intricate tale highlights the importance of pleasing God first, something that Beth Tarrington doesn't understand. She's been doing her best to be a good daughter. It is her coworker, Jan, who sows the seeds of doubt into Beth's perfect life. First about Beth's fiancé, who wants more than Beth is willing to give until the wedding. Then Jan clues Beth in about the realities of life for most folks who don't have rich parents giving them a condo, a phone, and a car. When Beth toys with the idea of trying out for a local theater production, Jan tells her to go for it. Beth begins to understand how privileged she is, but also how trapped by her parents' expectations. She meets Jason, first as a magician at a birthday party, then as the main character in the theater production. He knows she's engaged, but he finds it difficult to deny how he feels about her. She knows he would never fit into her parents' social circle. There are some wonderful secondary characters and then there's the p
