This lovely historical romance is filled with danger and adventure from the start. I could not stop reading to see what would happen next as Ellie Lou and Caleb faced threats in the form of an unexpected blizzard, physical injuries, and a dangerous outlaw. Their relationship grew and strengthened as together they faced the obstacles life threw at them. But more than just the story of a beautiful romance, it is the themes of faith and trusting God when He seems silent that make this story so very special. Convincing Lou is a wonderful reminder that God has a purpose for the hard times we face, and He never leaves His children to walk through the storms alone.
Convincing Lou is a great story, and I enjoyed it very much. Besides being entertaining, it had spiritual lessons that were timely for me. I love how Lou is courageous and determined, despite being scared and unsure internally. Caleb was a strong, kindhearted man who fought to do the right thing despite his own fears and doubts. Overall, I enjoyed this series and will miss these wonderful characters and their special town Burrton Springs, Kansas.
Wolfe never disappoints with her Western romances. She crafts wonderful characters that have backstories sprinkled with heartache. You will be cheering for love to win. Wolfe adds her characters' faith threads throughout the novel. Ellie Lou, or Lou, is a widow desperately trying to save her late-husband's horse ranch. She is desperate for money and agrees to chase down a tardy groom. Little does Lou know that a historic blizzard will threaten her life. Caleb is a U.S. Marshal chasing down a murderous outlaw. His tracking is interrupted by Lou and that nasty blizzard. As these two fall in love, their lives are interrupted by the renegade outlaw, worries about the future, and fighting troubles from the past. Wolfe will have you swooning over her characters and this Western storyline You will also be encouraged in your faith. Don't miss another romance in Burrton Springs.
