Brynne Lockwood has come home to Brattleboro, Vermont after a humiliating job loss. She’s weary and broken, and still hasn’t truly forgiven herself for a former unhealthy relationship with long-lasting consequences. She doesn’t believe that she deserves anything good and can’t imagine that God could ever use her.

After recovering from a shattering loss, Pastor Adam Johnston is on his way to a new assignment. A mix-up takes him and his baby daughter to beautiful southern Vermont. If he stays, he’ll face opposition, but God has prepared his heart for ministry, and he’s committed to serving there.

Adam and Brynne connect quickly and unexpectedly, but circumstances demand that they be cautious.

Now, you are invited to join Adam and Brynne on the porch at her grandparents’ home—a special place where you'll experience their joy as Adam and Brynne build a friendship rooted in Biblical principles, find healing for their wounds, and discover God’s plan for their lives.

"Meet Me on the Porch" by Erin Stevenson is a sweet story of love, new beginnings, and second chances. A clerical error places Pastor Adam Johnston in the wrong church. Recently widowed, he and his young daughter arrive at their new assignment only to discover the congregation is wary of having a single man as their pastor. But deep in his heart Adam knows God doesn’t make mistakes. He just needs to convince the congregation that he’s the man for the job. Brynn Lockwood has returned to her grandparents’ B&B after losing her job, only to discover a new guest, Adam. As their feelings for one another grow and she comes to call him PD (I’ll let you find out what that means), their caution leads them to make the porch their safe place to meet with one another. Laughter Warning: this story has one of the funniest meet-cutes I’ve ever read. And one I definitely could relate to. Bravo to Ms. Stevenson for a well-written, entertaining, and meaningful story of hope and redemption.

I loved this one. Brynne and Adam have a brilliant first meet. Not sure what apple butter is, but it sounds nice. Adam is in town for a new job, problem is it's not his job or at least he's not whom the council expected. Brynne is hiding her reasons for coming home, but the two of them hit it off nicely. A really good book to curl up with either on the porch or on the beach.

This book is incredibly sweet! Sometimes what seems to be a mistake or a mix-up isn't that at all, and this played out very well on the pages of Meet Me On The Porch. As a Pastor's wife I found Meet Me On The Porch to be a beautiful story of redemption and discovering God's plan and second chances at love. Very well-written and engaging with relatable characters. I love the attraction that exists between the characters without being immoral or overly sensual. Again, it's incredibly sweet - not syrupy - sweet filled with the messed of redemption. Definitely worth the read.
