Description

When district nurse Octavia Berry arrives to start her new job on a remote Scottish island, the last person she expects to see is her estranged husband. With a population of seventy-two and at the mercy of the elements, the island offers the peace and fresh start she longs for—but considerably more complications than she anticipated.

Pastor Ulysses Pine finds the island the perfect spot to assuage the sins of his youth. He spends his days tending many of the island sheep, as well as pastoring his human flock. The arrival of Octavia, the woman he abandoned on their wedding day, turns his ordered life upside down.

As Christmas approaches, Octavia and Ulysses face a collision course with the past, whilst they try to navigate through the present.

A new setting for me, a remote Scottish Island, where sheep far outnumber the less than 100 inhabitants. Nurse Octavia takes a position to avoid “Dad breathing the past all over me.” She meets Pastor/shepherd Ulysses, where they “…face a collision course with the past, whilst they try to navigate through the present.” Oh, how I enjoy reunion stories. Ms Revell’s love for Scotland comes through in the tale. She didn’t disappoint in bringing a twist for unexpected tension. Another beautiful tale.

Storms and Second Chances When Nurse Octavia Berry is stationed at a remote island off the Scottish coast, she runs into a man she hadn’t seen for almost ten years. Pastor Ulysses Pine…the man who married her and deserted her all on their wedding day. This is an uplifting story of misunderstandings, forgiveness, and second chances. A great read for the Christmas season.

Octavia has no idea what she's in for when she takes a nursing job on an island where only 72 people live and there are no secrets. She intended to escape her overbearing father, but she finds the man she married nine years ago. He left her, never contacted her afterward, and is now the pastor of the church. I devoured this story in one sitting. It was so much fun! The other inhabitants on the island made it even better. How I'd love to visit the island myself. Delightful!
