Needing a change of pace, elementary school teacher Kelly Seda accepts the school exchange position and flies from Ottawa to London. Exchanging jobs and houses for a year, he and six-year-old daughter Wendy have a less than a day to adjust before starting work.

Single mum Staci Kirk has carved out a life for herself and her young son Tommy. Fiercely independent and self-reliant, she’s found a good place where she can settle in but she’s all too aware that happily ever after applies only to other people—or to the fictional characters in the romance books she writes.

The arrival of Tommy’s new teacher, also her next door neighbour, threatens to upset Staci's carefully balanced apple cart but she knows it’s only a matter of time before Kelly packs his bags and flies back to Canada. No sense in starting anything she can’t finish.

However, life is never as simple as it is in her novels, and when the worst happens, there is only one person she can rely on to help.

Trading places and changing lives Elementary school teacher and single dad Kelly Seda has four days to decide whether he wants to accept an offer to leave his position in Canada and trade places with a teacher from London. Having always wanted to visit London, he agrees, and he and his daughter Wendy begin a life-changing adventure across the pond. Fortunately for Kelly, his new next-door neighbor in London, Staci, is a single Mom with a young son, Tommy. Both Kelly and Staci are still mourning the loss of their spouses. But when a friendship develops between Wendy and Tommy, and both families are drawn together, Staci and Kelly begin to wonder if this Christmas holds something new for them. I really enjoyed this book by Clare Revell. Her words paint such a beautiful picture of London during the Christmas season (I want to visit!). And she reminds us that no matter our loss or our trouble, God is a refuge for all who trust Him. This is an uplifting story of love, hope, peace, and a

A warm, wonderful holiday read and the best way to experience an authentic London Christmas if you can’t travel there. The developing relationships between the main characters as well as with each other’s children were handled beautifully. I dare you to not shed a tear at the sweet happy ending!

Canadian Kelly, a teacher exchange fills in mid-term for someone and goes to London with his daughter Wendy. Staci works at the school for children who eat breakfast there. Stacy sees Kelly and thinks “he has a laugh as gorgeous as Christmas and chocolate wrapped up into a delicious parcel.” Her son Tommy and Wendy become fast friends, not only in school but it turns out they live next door. Rich writing characteristic of Ms. Revell. Great job of Canadian and British speech patterns. A lovely ending.
