As a consequence, he&#8217;d been in time out several times during the day. On the way home I questioned him about his behavior. \u201cWhy aren\u2019t you listening?\u201d<br \/>And he answered. \u201cI\u2019m listening, I\u2019m just not obeying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While I had always thought of that as a humorous story, Sunday it took on a new meaning. I began to think how often I might listen to God\u2014but not obey. <\/p>\n<p>It brought to mind I Samuel 15:22 \u201cto obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.\u201d I realized listening without obeying is like a sacrifice not offered. How often had I heard His voice but didn\u2019t follow through.
