| \n\t\t\t\tDo you play music while you write? If so, what's your favorite? Most of the time I write in silence. Other times instrumental jazz or classical (especially if I'm writing historical) will be on in the background. For a few novels I was listen to Burlap to Cashmere as they inspired two books. If I'm writing outside the sounds of the birds. It kind of depends on my mood.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tWhat's my pet peeve? People who are chronically late. And too many wrinkles in the top sheet when I get into bed. It doesn't need to be ironed–just smoothed out!<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDoes anyone in your family read your books? My mom and sister sometimes do and possibly others I'm not aware of. My kids? No, although I hope someday my daughter will. My husband isn't a reader but he's listened to the audio books for the Black Diamond Gothic Regency series and loved them.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDo you have any other writers in your family? Yes! My paternal grandfather, James B. Pollard was an amazing writer and I was honored to type up his writings from WWII after his death and publish them in a little book called: Journey to Lekhipani: A G.I.'s Experiences in WWII. it is even in a national Army library.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tMy step-grandfather, Earl K. Wichern wrote and published a book called Life on the Slow Track: A True Adventure Story, which details how he and some friends rode bicycles from Wisconsin to the World Fair in New York, singing their way across the country and doing chores to earn money and eat. Definitely something you couldn't do now.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tMy second paternal cousin once removed, Richard S. Brown, wrote and published a historical crime thriller called Going off the Rails.
