It\u2019s<br \/>\nconcise, to the point, and easy to follow.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Pray without ceasing<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nFor any writing endeavor, writing what is God\u2019s will from a<br \/>\nChristian perspective is necessary. Have you ever noticed how many little distractions<br \/>\ncome along? Pray. Pray for inspiration, encouragement, and pray to write what<br \/>\nis needed on that page.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>In everything give thanks<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nYou may dread critique groups but remember the verse about<br \/>\niron sharpens iron? A true partner may say something that\u2019s hard to hear. But<br \/>\nbetter a critique partner than a reader, right? I always think of The<br \/>\nFellowship of the Ring where Bilbo accuses Gandalf of trying to steal the ring<br \/>\nof power. And Gandalf answers, \u201cI\u2019m not trying to rob you. I\u2019m trying to help<br \/>\nyou.\u201d You friends and partners are the same, they\u2019re not trying to take away<br \/>\npart of your creativity, they\u2019re trying to help you write the best you can.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Quench not the Spirit<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nPlotter or pantser\u2014you have to know to write when the Spirit<br \/>\nmoves you.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Despise not prophecyings<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nOften we shy away from writing about Spiritual gifts \u2013 don\u2019t<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Prove all things<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nAlso know as Suspending Disbelief. A character can do<br \/>\nanything a story can go anywhere but you have to build up to that point. You<br \/>\nhave to prove to the reader, sure there are eight seconds on this bomb and my<br \/>\nhero can diffuse it. And you do so by showing early on he\u2019s had weapons<br \/>\ntraining, etc. Don\u2019t use the \u201cBill and Ted Effect.\u201d You can\u2019t put in a solution<br \/>\nmagically. (For example \u201cRemember when we get back to the future we need to put<br \/>\nmom\u2019s keys in my pocket.\u201d) <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i><br \/><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Hold fast to that which is good.<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nWhy do we write? To create inspirational fiction that helps<br \/>\nothers. Granted just because your character is a Christian doesn\u2019t make them<br \/>\nperfect, but \u201cHolding fast to good\u201d should be the goal.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>Abstain from all appearance of evil. <\/i><\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nIf your character is a Christian they need to act like Christians<br \/>\nand if they\u2019re not, they need to be moving toward that conversion experience.<br \/>\nThis is also can be a major point of conflict, as in Joseph\u2019s life while he<br \/>\ndidn\u2019t do anything with Potipher\u2019s wife he couldn\u2019t prove it. But this is often<br \/>\nan excellent starting point for a story or a way to further the plot.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nMay God guide you in each and every word you write and<br \/>\nremember <b>\u201cFaithful is He that calleth you.\u201d<\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<b><i>The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you<\/i><\/b><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the best way to go about writing Christian fiction?
