You’re certainly not alone. Gideon, in perhaps the most famous Biblical example of this, asked God to prove Himself by putting out a fleece – not once, but twice. People say seeing is believing, but Jesus said to the famous “doubting” Thomas in John 20:39: Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Blessed, yes, that’s what I want to be! But it’s still hard sometimes to know the path we should take. In Following the Sparrows, several characters struggle with determining what God’s will is for them. The heroine, Kathryn, is given signs throughout the book involving sparrows. I can’t say I’ve had that experience, but I’ve felt God’s presence in my life directing me which way I should go. Life would be so much easier if the path was laid out ahead of us, but it’s not about life being easy, it’s about walking in faith.

At one point in the book, Pastor Mark tells Adam “When you aren’t sure what God’s intentions for a situation are, the one thing you can count on is His word.” God’s word is always the go-to when you’re unsure of what to do. Psalm 119:105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” A lamp only gives a small amount of light – just enough to illuminate our next step, once we take it in faith.

If you can relate to flawed but well-intentioned people who struggle with God’s will for their lives, and enjoy a little mystery and romance as well, pick up a copy of Following the Sparrows, and enjoy the journey!

Available Tomorrow!

Following the Sparrows (Pine Springs) Kindle Edition

by Karen Malley

Did you ever wish God would give you a sign showing you what you’re supposed to do?
