Take a look at<br \/>\nNehemiah. Those close to Nehemiah probably never expected the mild-mannered man<br \/>\nto ever step out of his comfort zone, leave the safety of the king\u2019s palace to<br \/>\ngo on work detail. Add to that the fact he was in captivity. He served a<br \/>\nforeign government. He also didn\u2019t have a background in planning or building<br \/>\nthat we know of&#8230;he was the king\u2019s cupbearer. Yet this man became instrumental<br \/>\nin rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. We can look at that wall both literally and figuratively. Nehemiah<br \/>\nis a role model today of a man who listened to God and followed His guidance<br \/>\nand make a great impact. Nehemiah was a builder. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\nBut how does Nehemiah\u2019s wall compare to writing Christian<br \/>\nfiction?<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraph\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;\">\n\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHe saw a need. Maybe for you it\u2019s a personal burden<br \/>\nor maybe someone has shown you the need.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .25in;\">\n<i>Nehemiah 1:3 &nbsp;And they said unto<br \/>\nme, \u201cThe remnant who are left behind from the captivity there in the province<br \/>\nare in great affliction <\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;\">\n\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHe had dual purpose. The people who build the<br \/>\nwall had one hand at work and one hand on a sword. Don\u2019t Christian writers do<br \/>\nthis too? Your story is on one hand from you and on the other, filled with God\u2019s<br \/>\nword (the Sword of the Spirit)<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin-left: .3in; mso-add-space: auto;\">\n<i>Nehemiah 4:17-18&nbsp; Those who built on the wall and those who<br \/>\nbore burdens with those who loaded \u2014 every one with one of his hands wrought in<br \/>\nthe work and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one,<br \/>\nhad his sword girded by his side, and so built. <\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin-left: .3in; mso-add-space: auto;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\" style=\"mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;\">\n\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHe desired to be used of God.&nbsp; Nehemiah had his conflict. He had people who<br \/>\ndidn\u2019t want that wall built. There was opposition within his group and<br \/>\nexternally but he didn\u2019t quit. He prayed and he perceived that his work should<br \/>\nkeep going, that God was behind him. He finished the task.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .3in;\">\n<i>Nehemiah<br \/>\n6:15-16 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month of<br \/>\nElul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass that when all our enemies<br \/>\nheard thereof, and all the heathen who were about us saw these things, they<br \/>\nwere much cast down in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was<br \/>\nwrought by our God.<\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: .3in;\">\nRead the whole book, it is really<br \/>\nis amazing.<i><\/i><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<i>So built we the wall&#8230;for the people had a mind to work.
