Woven into the passage are warning, instruction and hope.<br \/>\n\tIf we listen to the Lord, He will teach us how to use our gifts (in this<br \/>\n\tcase, a well-trained tongue that can uplift the weary). But,<br \/>\n\tinvariably, when we are using our gifts to glorify God, we will be<br \/>\n\tridiculed and possibly even attacked. How are we to react to this? By<br \/>\n\tstanding strong, not turning away from God; by not seeking revenge; and<br \/>\n\tby peacefully accepting the &ldquo;consequence&rdquo; of fulfilling His will without<br \/>\n\tregard for ourselves.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn return for our faithfulness in honouring Him and the gifts He<br \/>\n\tsupplies, He will provide the vindication our flesh may want to seek for<br \/>\n\tourselves.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLet&rsquo;s Pray: Lord, help me to acknowledge the gifts you have provided<br \/>\n\tthat are uniquely mine, and help me to share those gifts to Your Glory.<br \/>\n\tHelp me never to place my own well-being before You. Grant me the grace<br \/>\n\tto understand that, while living in the spirit goes against every fiber<br \/>\n\tof my flesh, it is no less than Jesus did, even unto death on a cross.<br \/>\n\tThank You for Your sacrifice that purchased for Me the ultimate gift of<br \/>\n\teverlasting life.\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\">\n<p>\n\t\tThe Lord GOD has given me<br \/>\n\t\ta well-trained tongue,<br \/>\n\t\tThat I might know how to speak to the weary<br \/>\n\t\ta word that will rouse them.<br \/>\n\t\tMorning after morning<br \/>\n\t\the opens my ear that I may hear;<br \/>\n\t\tAnd I have not rebelled,<br \/>\n\t\thave not turned back.<br \/>\n\t\tI gave my back to those who beat me,<br \/>\n\t\tmy cheeks to those who plucked my beard;<br \/>\n\t\tMy face I did not shield<br \/>\n\t\tfrom buffets and spitting.\n\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tThe Lord GOD is my help,<br \/>\n\t\ttherefore I am not disgraced;<br \/>\n\t\tI have set my face like flint,<br \/>\n\t\tknowing that I shall not be put to shame.<br \/>\n\t\tHe is near who upholds my right;<br \/>\n\t\tif anyone wishes to oppose me,<br \/>\n\t\tlet us appear together.<br \/>\n\t\tWho disputes my right?<br \/>\n\t\tLet him confront me.<br \/>\n\t\tSee, the Lord GOD is my help;<br \/>\n\t\twho will prove me wrong?\n\t<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Isaiah 50:4-9 is a beautiful example of how we are to be good servants<br \/>\nof the Lord.
