The current English words were written by Robert Davis in the 1920s. Depending on voices, some of the verses are omitted from the song.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPeter, Paul and Mary were an American folk-singing trio whose nearly 50-year career began with 1960s folk music. The trio were Peter Yarrow, (Noel) Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. They had several hits including the children&#39;s song, <em>Puff, The Magic Dragon<\/em>.
