This means up,<br \/>\ndown, and sideways. More specifically: top, bottom, left and right.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nHeaders that are 0.5\u201d from the top.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nManuscripts should be double spaced<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nFont should be 12 pt and easy to read. An author<br \/>\nis always safe with Times New Roman.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nEliminate all double spaces after end of<br \/>\nsentence punctuation.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nEliminate all tabs. Use the automatic indent and<br \/>\nset it at 0.5\u201d unless told otherwise.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nIf unaware of the publisher\u2019s preference, use a<br \/>\npage break at the end of a chapter. Note: some publishers do prefer section<br \/>\nbreaks, however, this break can mess with some formatting. Use it only if you<br \/>\nknow it is your publisher\u2019s preference.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;\">\nIn addition to<br \/>\nthe above, Pelican Book Group utilizes the following formats. While these are<br \/>\nnot required, and a manuscript would not be rejected for failure to implement<br \/>\nthese, editors are always grateful when such issues are resolved:<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nFour asterisk indicate a scene break. These<br \/>\nshould be centered. Note: use caution. When a return follows the asterisk,<br \/>\nauthors get that mysterious thick dotted line that is near impossible to remove<br \/>\nfrom the manuscript once it has been saved. To remedy that line (before you<br \/>\nsave the document), press Ctrl Z immediately after the line appears, and the asterisk<br \/>\nwill return.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe chapters are entered numerically.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\" style=\"margin: 0in 0.5in 0.0001pt 1in; text-indent: -0.25in;\">\nv&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe chapter numbers should come four double<br \/>\nspaces from the top of the page with one double space separating the chapter<br \/>\nnumber from the beginning paragraph.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\nThese<br \/>\nsimple format changes to a manuscript prior to submission, do provide a look of<br \/>\nprofessionalism to the manuscript. With those in place, an editor can get right<br \/>\nto the task of reviewing an author\u2019s work.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-right: 0.5in; text-indent: 0in;\">\nHappy<br \/>\nediting.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>True.
