I thoroughly enjoyed the novella, Heartache and Hope. Daylin is not your cookie-cutter heroine with the perfect body. She’s warm, real, a little insecure, and someone I could root for. In short, from page one, I truly cared about what happened to her, and in the space of a short novella, that’s something special.
Patrick is a kind, serious man with heavy responsibilities and he’s grieving the loss of a good wife. He’s a single parent with a cute kid with chronic CF and even though he has more than he bargained for, he’s making a difference in this world with his Dash for the Dream campaign—raising money for CF research.
The author has an amazing ability to draw the reader into the story and I will pull this book out again in a year or two to re-read this charming story. Well done, Mary Manners!
