Voice of Truth
I just finished reading Voice of Truth by Dana Pratola. This was my first book by this author and I couldn't put it down! Pratola's descriptive narrative and true to life dialog drew me in to the story line so that I read into the early hours of the morning just to finish the book! A few hours loss of sleep was worth the read!
Positives: Excellent character development - especially of the heroine. Plot twists that kept me reading. Clean storyline - no swearing or sexual content and yet it wasn't unrealistically sweet.
What I wished for: While the story is about the heroine's life, I wished that the author had developed the hero's character a little more - to make him as deep as the heroine. I felt like the ending was a bit rushed. Pratola jumped to the scene with the hero and the heroine's mother and then to the resolution between the hero and heroine too quickly, it seemed to me. It left me with that feeling "Is this the end? What about her career? Does she reveal the truth about her voice? How does that revelation play out in her career?"
Over all I would give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars because of the excellent writing and storyline. I will read more by this author.
