Ashton Drake Wells
Servant of the Sword and Scroll
Ashton Wells was raised to serve The Order of the Sword and Scroll and is considered one of the most ruthless and noble of the mysterious society's warriors. Trained as a Knight, he was one of the first wave of spies trained to operate in the aftermath of The Great Calamity.
The quakes left him orphaned and his time on the streets honed a dangerous edge in him, though the experience did not dull the noble mannerisms instilled at a young age. Known to be both dashing and deadly, he moves as easily within New Society's elite as he does amongst the battle-hardened knights he leads.
Fiercely loyal to The Order, he is pushed to the limits both physically and mentally when he finds himself embroiled in the hunt for Colonel Blackburn.
Ashton considers Charlotte Blackburn to be the most dangerous woman he has ever met. From the moment she crashes into his life, she challenges his faith, his mission, and his heart.
There is a history of bad blood between Ashton and the sky settlement's outspoken sheriff, Sebastian Riley. Rumor is that it was Ashton's bullet that led to Riley's mechanized hand, though it is his blade that others fear most.
Ashton has a fondness for airship sailing having been taught to navigate the skies by his good friend and fellow pilot, Elizabeth Frances, whom he met while on his first assignment for The Order.
